HomeSource Real Estate and Construction, Inc. was founded by Tim Alexander, a licensed general contractor with over 20 years of experience locally in real estate, development, and construction business. In addition to his building credentials, Tim has been a NC Real Estate Broker since 1984, a member of the Asheville Board of Realtors, Asheville Home Builders Association, National Association of Home Builders, Western North Carolina Green Building Council, and National Association of the Remodeling Industry.
Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Tim came to Western North Carolina in 1980 to attend Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. After graduating with a business degree in 1984, Tim began work with a major resort developer head-quartered in Asheville, NC. Having a love of the Western North Carolina Mountains this was a natural fit. After twelve years working in the resort and construction industry, Tim decided to start his own building company.
As a fully insured and licensed general contractor, HomeSource builds approximately 8-10 custom and several spec homes per year as well provide residential and commercial remodeling services. The core philosophy to stay small enables Tim and his staff to provide close attention to each project on a daily basis and remains one of the reasons for the company's success in our changing market.
On custom homes, HomeSource provides full disclosure of every invoice generated during the construction process as well as progress reports and construction meetings along the way. We provide staff to work with you on design and custom selections. A well-informed client is most likely to enjoy the process better as well as be highly satisfied with the outcome.

With a mind toward company stability and reliability, HomeSource began in january of 2004 allowing its employees to participate in company ownership through a stock option/profit sharing program. HomeSource believes that an employee-owned company helps encourage the longevity and commitment of its staff, which thereby provides clients with consistency of service.
