HomeSource Real Estate and Construction, Inc. is owned and operated by Tim Alexander.  Tim has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate, development and construction business.

Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Tim came to Western North Carolina 30 years ago to attend Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. After graduating with a Business degree in 1984, Tim began work with a major resort developer head-quartered in Asheville, NC.  Having a love of the Western North Carolina Mountains this was a natural fit. After twelve years working in the resort and construction industry, Tim decided to start his own building company.

HomeSource is a fully insured and licensed general contractor specializing in residential and light commercial construction in the Asheville, NC and surrounding area. HomeSources’ philosophy for the building industry is to provide a “hands on” approach with our clients. The company builds 10 to 15 custom homes a year, plus numerous remodeling and light commercial projects. This philosophy enables HomeSource to provide an extremely close relationship with a competitive price.

In addition to being a licensed general contractor, HomeSource is an active NC Real Estate Brokerage and Remodeling Company. The company is involved in many associations including the Asheville Board of Realtors, the Home Builders Association of Asheville, Western North Carolina Green Building Council, Asheville Chamber of Commerce and American Institute of Architecture – Asheville Section.

In January of 2004 HomeSource Real Estate and Construction began allowing its employees to participate in company ownership through a stock option and profit sharing program. HomeSource believes that an employee-owned company helps encourage the longevity and commitment of its staff and the stability of the overall company. Along with our custom home projects our spec homes by HomeSource are designed and built to our standards of quality and taste and then marketed for sale at a point when the buyer will have the opportunity to make all of the finishing selections to customize the home.
